Game 3 = No Suprises

After I posted the title to the last entry I nearly had to punch myself in the face for giving a complement to Ron Jeremy...er...Stan Van Gundy. As a result this title is much more straight forward and accurate.

As many people know game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals was tonight and the Pittsburgh Penguins came away with a 4-2 victory. Now, based on the fact that Detroit was up 2-0 I felt that if Pittsburgh was going to win any games this series they were going to win this one. I happened to be right. Obviously coming home for game 3 helped Pittsburgh on a mental level having the crowd behind them but I think the real key to their victory was desperation. The Penguins were in a virtual must win situation (I really hate that term unless it is an elimination game), because going down 3-0 is basically a death sentence in the NHL. Even with the loss I can see how the Red Wings can get a lot positive out of this game. Detroit managed to really stay with the motivated Penguins and, in my opinion, had better quality scoring chances. I look for Detroit to come back strong in game 4 and get the win heading back to Detroit.

I'm not going to provide anything for the next two Wings games due to extenuating circumstances. And as a result it is feasible that the Wings could have cup in hand before I make my next Wings post. Not sure if I want the Wings in 5 or 6 because of my chances of viewing games 4 and 5. Oh what the heck Wings in 5, I got a DVR.

Oh yeah, 1 final note. Likely to have an NBA Mock Draft up by next Wednesday or Thursday Night. Look forward to that post, It'll be in depth.
